How We Help

Education

UNCT provides good quality education to the orphans and motherless children we sponsor. We pay for their school fees, school uniforms, shoes, books and writing materials. In addition  we are in the process of supplying them with laptops & chrome books.

This will enhance their learning, knowledge and skills as well as expose them to technology.

Individual sponsorship of a child is highly encouraged and profoundly appreciated.

Full details of the child will be made available to the sponsor on request and school reports sent per term.

Health

Our children undergo some health challenges that may require investigations, treatment, surgical interventions or hospital in- patient admission.
They also have regular dental check-ups, immunisations, annual screening to ensure abnormalities are detected earlier.
In some children, failure to thrive, malnutrition, hearing/sight defects and various disorders can be corrected too.
UNCT plans to support children with Sickle Cell Anaemia and Leukaemia when this programme is expanded in future.

Food Bank

Another major challenge facing our children and their carers are food shortage and lack of funds to purchase food with nutritional value.
The purpose of having a food bank is to ensure that a well balanced diet is made available to the children so no child goes to school with an empty stomach.  The carers work under voluntary basis and some cannot afford to pay for their meals so we provide meals for them too.
It also promotes social integration and interactions during meal times.

Poverty Alleviation

Children & their carers are living below the poverty line. With no access to finance, they are living at the mercy of Churches and other good spirited people.

Funding for Orphanage & Motherless Residential Home

UNCT plans to build an orphanage home with modern facilities. This will enable the Trust to accommodate more children with similar problems.  A relationship can be maintained with their  families to ensure they do not loose their identity. Land has been acquired for this laudable project.

We welcome all donations/sponsorships including non governmental organisations. Please refer to our donations section for further details.
